Introduction to Path & site Survey Engineering

Transmission engineering

Overview: Microwave Communication System course

The field and path survey course is design to provide a basic understanding of how to interpret site/path survey data in order to determine antenna heights and reflection point location. In short, the training course is a practical field survey approach to determine system feasibility, system layout, critical point location, sites layout and space inventory, tower orientation and/or space availability, free space and obstruction losses on path and survey report requirements. The field survey report is designed to enable an RF engineer to complete final design of the system.

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret field and path survey reports.
  • Determine system feasibility, layout and critical point.
  • Generate field survey report.
  • System or transmission Engineer degree
  • A sound knowledge of electronic theory and radio principles and previous digital microwave radio experience.
  • A laptop is required to complete the tasks associated with the course

Each student must bring an IBM compatible laptop PC and have administrator rights on the PC.
