Overview

Aviat ProVision™ is a powerful, standards-based Element Management System (EMS). Designed to simplify Carrier Ethernet and TDM network designs and services, it provides superior intelligence for mobile and private network operators. ProVision delivers network management across the full Aviat product portfolio, key partner products and many third-party SNMP-based platforms. It provides efficient, seamless end-to-end network management solutions for TDM, Carrier Ethernet, and hybrid microwave networks.

The ProVision™ Installation, Configuration and Management Virtual instructor led course provides full guidance on the installation, use and administration of ProVision EMS software. The course will cover in detail all aspects of using the EMS for fault management, configuration management, performance monitoring and reporting.

Courses are conducted by AVIAT expert trainers in a mentoring environment backed by their deep technology expertise and experience in implementation of microwave wireless and IP networks. The ProVision Installation, Configuration and Management course is conducted at Aviat Training locations or can be arranged at customer sites.

Upon successfully completing this course, participants will be able to perform:

  • Set up and Administer the ProVision Element Management System
  • Navigate and Identify the ProVision Client User Interface
  • Deploy and Manage Network Elements in ProVision
  • Understand and Use Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance, and Security tools In ProVision
  • Participants must complete ProVision System Overview e-learning course
  • Participants should have knowledge and experience in the areas of network operations fundamentals and telecommunications fundamentals.
  • The student will need a Notebook computer with an Ethernet port and running on one of the following Operating Systems:
    • Windows XP Pro
    • Windows Vista
    • Windows 7
    • Windows 2003 Server
    • Windows 2008 Server

  • All students need an IBM (Windows) computer and they need administrative rights.

There are 3 programs students need to run and they will need administrative rights to install these 3 programs.

  1. WebEx:  they will need to run WebEx to do the virtual class (VILT). This can surely be done on a non-Windows computer such as a Mac, but they will need to have administrative rights to install it. This is the absolute minimum to do VILT.
  2. Pulse Secure: to do labs they will need to install the Pulse Secure VPN client to connect to our San Antonio lab. The software we give them for this is Windows-based so they will need a Windows computer with administrative rights to install and run this.
  3. Portal: they will need to install Portal to do the labs once connected to the VPN. Portal is also Windows-based, so they will need the Windows computer with administrative rights.
