Overview

The ClearView Operation, Installation, and Maintenance course consists of six modules focusing on the ClearView operation, configuration, installation, and maintenance. The modular nature of the course makes it possible to customize the content to address learning requirements of different category of customer employees such as network administrators, system engineers, NOC teams and field support groups and SNMP-aware technicians.

Courses are conducted by AVIAT expert trainers in a mentoring environment backed by their deep technology expertise and experience in implementation of microwave wireless and IP networks.

The course is conducted at the Aviat Training locations or can be arranged at customer sites.

Upon successfully completing this course, trainees will be able to:

  • Understand ClearView architecture and building blocks such as the ClearView Server and Client Software and the MYSQL database
  • Use ClearView as an NMS to manage ’s RDL radio platforms
  • Discover network elements and create a logical map of the physical network within ClearView
  • Software and configuration management in one of the solutions (RDL-3000, RDL-2000 and RDL-5000)
  • Configure SNMP trap forwarding on the ClearView NBI for integration with the customer OOS and BSS
  • Configure notification service and threshold crossing alerts (TCA) for network wide events
  • Configure and identify alarms and use them to troubleshoot network issues
  • Perform routine tasks such as database backup, device configuration backup and restore, cleaning up performance management data accumulated in the database
  • Manage user accounts and network access privileges using the ClearView security module
  • Studying and creating reports for the managed solutions (RDL-3000, RDL-2000 and RDL-5000)
  • Deployment and configuration of the application and security level redundancy in ClearView
  • Install and configure ClearView server, client, database, and license
  • Configure the LDAP for user authentication. Discover 3rd party devices in ClearView
  • Export MAPs into the ClearView and view networks in Google-Earth/Google-MAP
  • Basic operations on the MYSQL server
  • Understand how to integrate ClearView with HP OpenView and other NMS systems
  • Participants must have a basic understanding of the SNMP protocol and working knowledge of MIBs and their use.
  • Trainees must attend a course prior to this course or have RCSA or RCSP level certification in one of the RDL radio platforms (RDL-3000, RDL-2000 and RDL-5000).
  • Each student must have a laptop with administrative rights to install and run IP networking simulation software.

Classroom

  • Sufficient in size to handle all participants, instructor, desks, chairs, classroom equipment. The room must have enough 110 AC (220) AC power and air conditioning to operate equipment, all students client’s PC’s and the server or radio as required.
  • This course can be done online with full hands-on at the level of this course if customer has access to their ClearView server online. Otherwise, the system web-UI shall be used for walk-through demonstration of features and functionalities by the instructor.
