INTRODUCING WTM 4000 PLATFORM
Lowest TCO wireless transport
Aviat’s WTM 4000 Redefines Efficient High-Capacity Outdoor Networking
WTM 4000 dramatically lowers the cost of microwave, millimeter wave, and multi-band transport and backhaul networks. A compact all-outdoor dual-transceiver architecture with integrated IP/MPLS removes the need for an indoor unit or a stand-alone router. High system gain reduces antenna sizes and tower lease costs, while a unique one-box multi-band provides high capacity over longer distances, with lower spectrum fees and minimal upgrade costs.
Aviat’s Platform Ensures Network Growth with Efficient, Scalable Solutions
The platform’s ultra-high capacity protects your network from looming traffic growth. It will minimize your overall operational costs and resources, support new applications, and enable quick rollout of new services. It will enable you to prepare for an uncertain future, with software-scalable capacity upgrades that can be purchased online and implemented in minutes without additional equipment or truck rolls.
Features & Benefits
Multi-Channel, Single or Multi-Band
The Platform’s dual-transceiver design is unique
It is the only platform that can support single- or multi-channel, combined with single- or multi-band operation, all in a single outdoor box. Each WTM 4000 radio can be equipped with one or two transceivers (from 5 to 80 GHz) configured for a variety of operational modes, including Single Transceiver Single-Band, Dual-Transceiver Single-Band, and Dual Transceiver Multi-Band.
A2C+ (Adaptive Dual-Carrier)
Breaking new ground in capacity, reliability, TCO
It’s an available option on Aviat WTM 4100 and WTM 4800 Multi-Band Series radios, doubling capacity (up to 2.5 Gbps) by enabling a second RF channel on a single transceiver. Because there’s no additional hardware required, you get double the capacity without the costs and hassles of ordering, purchasing, and on-site installation of more equipment.
Using A2C+ also improves link uptime. During any rain fade event, the Aviat WTM 4100 automatically reverts to single channel operation, providing an instantaneous system gain boost of up to 7dB to maintain continuous traffic under severe conditions. A2C+ will deliver better link performance with much more uptime than that of a single 224 MHz channel with adaptive modulation (ACM) alone.
MB-XD Extended Distance Multi-Band
A unique two-box, all-outdoor architecture
It combines a dual-channel WTM 4200 microwave radio with a dual channel WTM 4880 E-Band radio on a single antenna. No indoor unit is required, and power consumption is significantly reduced compared to similar solutions.
MB-XD also leverages the rain resilient microwave bands such as 11 or 13 GHz, combined with dual-channel E-Band, to deploy much longer high-capacity multi-band link distances – up to 20 km. Our unique L1-LA traffic aggregation ensures that you still maintain up to 99.999% availability for your most important traffic.
WTM 4800 E-Band and Multi-Band Series
A unique solution with multiple applications
The dual transceiver design supports single channel E-Band up to 10 Gbps, dual channel E-band to 20 Gbps, or dual or three channel multi-band combining one E-Band channel with one or two microwave channels in the 11, 13, 15, 18 or 23 GHz bands.
Built on the WTM 4000 all-outdoor platform, the WTM 4800 leverages advanced L2 and L3 IP/MPLS capabilities to deliver ultra-high capacities with advanced network intelligence in a single, compact solution.
Small Bump-up in Cost for Near Unlimited Capacity
Single-box for smooth migration up to 10 Gbps
There are no additional hardware investments, no site visits or tower climbs, and (in most cases) little or no increase in spectrum fees. Capacity increases are as simple as you can get – order through Aviat’s online Store, then download your capacity upgrades from AviatCloud.
Depending on the spectrum fees charged in your country, Multi-Band can also lead to significant savings in fees where E-Band is charged at a much lower rate per Gbps of capacity.
Integrated L2 and L3 IP/MPLS
WTM 4000 supports full IP/MPLS networking
WTM 4000 incorporates a 50 Gbps Carrier Ethernet switch that supports advanced L2 features, and – with a simple software upgrade – it enables L3 functionality in an all-outdoor footprint. There’s no need, and related costs, to deploy a stand-alone cell site router. Other features include AES256 Payload Encryption, 1588v2 Transparent and Boundary Clock, 4×4 MIMO, Space Diversity, and a built-in spectrum analyzer.
AOD radios are simple to deploy and operate for lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). There’s only one box (per end) to purchase, ship, deploy and maintain (compared to multiple units and cards for split-mount). Because these radios are all-outdoor, there’s no indoor or cabinet rack space required, and they’re compatible with next-generation all-outdoor base stations. These benefits are making AOD radios the preferred solution for 4G and 5G mobile and rural broadband networks worldwide.
