The RDL 6000 Overview, Operation and Configuration course consists of 5 modules focusing on the RDL 6000 operation and configuration. The course content is aligned with the training objectives and learning needs of Level-1 support groups, engineers, and technicians. The program is designed to achieve an optimum balance between slide coverage and hands-on work.

The course content is enriched with hands-on labs (with over 70% hands-on if done onsite). If done online, the hands-on part is limited to the demonstration and walk-through of the feature using a live ClearView server.

Courses are conducted by AVIAT expert trainers in a mentoring environment backed by their deep technology expertise and experience in implementation of microwave wireless and IP networks.

The course is conducted at the Aviat Training locations or can be arranged at customer sites.

Upon successfully completing this course, participants shall understand and acquire hands-on knowledge of the product to effectively use the following expertise:

  • Basic LTE technology parameters and LTE networking elements and their functions
  • E-UTRAN and EPC core building blocks
  • RDL 6000 as a system (eNB and UE) and its building blocks from the 3GPP Release 8/9 perspective
  • Operational features of the Ellipse-4G Sector controller (SC) and RDL-6000 UEs
  • RDL 6000 base station deployment configurations using sectorized and Omni antennas
  • Introduction to QoS and QoS class indicators (QCI) for the user traffic in RDL 6000
  • Defining basic data paths from the PGW to the RDL-6000 UE
  • Managing RDL 6000 systems using HTTP, CLI (Telnet/SSH) and SNMP
  • Understanding the configuration requirements of LTE UEs
  • UE management and UE connectivity and performance monitoring
  • Configuring the FlexCore EPC to support LTE core functions for the RDL-6000 systems
  • Basic subscriber administrator tasks in FlexCore EPC
  • FlexCore management attributes
  • RDL 6000 eNB installation

  • Participants must have a working knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and basic understanding and knowledge of RF and telecommunications systems
  • Each student must have a laptop with administrative rights to install and run IP networking simulation software.
