Hosted FAS Expert Service Brochure
Hosted FAS is based on Aviat’s patent-pending FAS Expert System, which is custom-built to monitor and detect interference, perform trend analysis of the network over time to track interference, and isolate problem links before noticeable impacts occur. In addition to providing customers with a self-service portal to view their interference events and trends, Hosted FAS will also deliver analysis from Aviat engineers on interference issues. Visionary Broadband offers 1Gbps symmetric broadband to customers in Lusk, Wyoming. However, Lusk currently has no scalable fiber backhaul options. In order for Visionary to continue to offer 1Gbps broadband to every home, and to accomplish the company’s goal of having route-redundancy, Visionary knew they needed to turn to a licensed microwave solution to continue to grow in the community. However, the 10G fiber backhaul they were deploying to Lusk was still years away. Visionary could not afford to wait that long without disappointing customers and risking their business. They decided to take a long shot and build a 71-mile (114.26 km) multiple gigabit microwave link. This link supplies the additional capacity to their fiber customer while they wait for the fiber connection. For most wireless vendors that would be impossible, but that is why they turned to Aviat.

When electricity distribution operator WEL Networks decided to install a new IP communications network throughout their area of service, they wanted a single future-proof solution that could support their wide range of traffic requirements. They chose the Aprisa family from Aviat Networks: the Aprisa XE point-to-point microwave link and the Aprisa SR point-to-multipoint radio. To date, more than 100 radios have been installed and the network continues to be expanded with the addition of further Aprisa SR radios.

Noting that the SCADA system has been of primary importance to its sectors since its establishment, Enerjisa officials say that with SCADA consumers can immediately be informed of the interruptions, and SCADA makes it possible for Enerjisa to raise their operational quality and efficiency to a higher level. With earlier experience of the IEC 60870-5101, 102, and 103 protocols, in the new Baskent and Ayedas distribution automation SCADA projects for controlling reclosers, capacitor banks, etc. Enerjisa decided to use the IEC 60870-5-104 protocol to benefit for example from the higher speed and freedom of unsolicited remote terminal reporting. Private 400 MHz licensed band radio was the selected technology to overcome the public networks availability and security issues. Radios are used at all new sites and to replace all current leased line communications.
